OVW Award Condition on Workplace-Related Sexual Misconduct

Congratulations on your award from the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW)! This page provides information that you will need to meet the Award condition, which states that grant recipients and any subrecipients must have a policy or issue a policy within 270 days of the award date to address workplace-related incidents of sexual misconduct, domestic violence, and dating violence involving an employee, volunteer, consultant, or contractor.

To read the full text of the Award condition, visit OVW’s website about the scope of the policy and relevant definitions. You can also read this blog post about the condition written by a former Principal Deputy Director at OVW.

Award Condition Training Course

Ready to get started? Staff from Workplaces Respond to Domestic and Sexual Violence: A National Resource Center created a self-paced training course to support your process. The training takes 60-90 minutes to complete. Please set aside time to complete the course in one sitting, as your progress does not save when you have exited out. However, you can complete the course or review the modules as many times as you would like. You can receive a certificate of completion after completing components of the course.

Throughout the course, you can refer to the Implementation Guide as a resource, and refer to this worksheet when these scenarios are mentioned.

Technical Assistance

Workplaces Respond staff are available to support you while you draft and implement your policy. Please do not hesitate to send an email or fill out our technical assistance request form below.
