Experts with Workplaces Respond to Domestic and Sexual Violence: A National Resource Center (Workplaces Respond) are available to support employers seeking to create workplaces that promote respect and safety by recognizing the impact of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and sexual harassment (DVSASSH) on workers and the workplace, responding with supportive policies and practices, and actively dismantling structures that have perpetuated violence and trauma.

How we can help:

Three columns with arrows pointing to the next column; first column titled Audit and Assess: provide feedback on policies and protocols, offer strategies and best practices to reduce risk factors and to improve workplace culture; second column titled Develop and Implement: offer model policies and practices and guide the development and implementation of workplace culture change interventions; third column titled Monitor and Sustain: provide tools to measure and evaluate program impact and efficacy and share resources for continual education and growth.

Our Guiding Principles:

  • We all deserve to work in an environment that promotes respect, dignity, and safety.
  • DVSASSH are rooted in power and control and, in response, employers must recognize their own power and influence over the lives of employees and work to promote agency, collaboration, and mutuality.
  • Efforts to address DVSASSH must collaborate and purposefully engage with workers to identify, develop, and implement solutions.
  • Emotional, psychological, and social safety must be the foundation of a comprehensive and trauma-informed, survivor-centered program to effectively prevent and respond to DVSASSH.

Our Guiding Values:

  • Innovation and Creativity
  • Community and Collaboration
  • Human-Centered, Trauma-Responsiveness
  • Respect and Kindness
  • Health, Wellness, and Collective Healing
  • Authenticity, Humility, and Transparency
